What you need to know before your appointment
1. You must present a current and valid ID (NOT EXPIRED)
2. What type of documents are being notarized and how many?
3. Address and location of signing
4. Agreed upon price quote with the Notary Public
* Example ID: Must be current – Drivers License, Senior ID, DMV ID, Military ID or a Passport.
* NOTE:
1. In order for a notarization to occur, a person must present a valid “unexpired” current form of ID that contains a photograph, a description of the person, signature of the person and an identifying number.
2. The notary public must include these in his or her journal in order to complete the notarization:
The type of identifying document, the government agency issuing the document, the serial or identifying number of the document and the date of issue and expiration of the ID document that was used to establish the identity of the signer.

*** ONLY HAVE AN EXPIRED ID? Please know in order to proceed with a Notarization you will need to provide two credible witnesses at the document signing, in person. Two people who personally knows the signer and will vouch for their identity, “under oath” and produce a current and valid ID that is not expired, to be documented in the Notarial Journal. By California Law this is the only way to notarize with no or expired ID’s.
*The Notary Public will need to issue an oath stating the identifying credible witnesses personally knows the signer.
